Hullo all.
Sorry I've not replied to all the messages and notes you've left. It's exhausting looking after a baby. She's wonderful, don't mistake me, but I can't remember the last time I slept for more than three hours at a time.
Junius' cousin Lucy is here for a few days to help, and she's been a marvel, but she won't be here forever. We're trying to get Bea settled into a routine, but it's hard work with the shop and everything. There's lots of noise and excitement all the time, and it floats up to her nursery, no matter how many muffling charms we use. She's got ears like a bat, that one. Not literally.
My aunt Narcissa suggested we expand into one of the empty properties on either side, which I think would be rather good. We're going to get on to the Ministry about requesting one of them as soon as we have time.
Oh, a few people have asked about Bea's name. Perhaps it would help to know that we were half expecting her to be a boy, and were thinking to name him Albion. We talked a lot about names, and wanted something to remind us, and our baby, of how lucky we are to live in the Protectorate. There were quite a few options, but we liked Albion as a reminder of how we're living in the new golden age for wizards and witches - the new Albion, like Merlin had, you know?
But of course, Bea was a girl. So Albion became Albia.
Her middle name's Carina, which is a star constellation. That one was for to keep up my family's traditions. I thought
Oh, she's woken up again. See ya.
