Thank you both for making this such a nice, relaxing Mother's day. Sirius, they told me it was you remembered how much I liked the sweet buns from Lomax's. They're still the best!
And, Remus, you were so good with Bea, helping her make my brekkie. And bring it up! How did you get Kreacher to allow that? Sirius, was it you that got her the ruffled pinny? She was so pleased with it.
We could get her a little domestic's cap and teach her to help Ellie at the shop. She'd love it. Shame we can't trust her over there.
Oh, and which of you helped her with the card? I didn't dare ask if that was meant to be me in the picture. Or a pony. Or something altogether else!
Are we going to see you back here tonight, Sirius? All well up there?

Date: 2014-03-31 03:46 am (UTC)As for getting Kreacher to cooperate -- we had Bea explain Mothering Sunday to him. It worked because (1) it was Bea explaining and not one of us, and (2) the custom of breakfast in bed for Mothering Sunday was further proof (as if any was needed) that Sirius was a terrible, terrible son.

Date: 2014-03-31 04:23 am (UTC)Brekkie in bed is on a long, long list of things I find it hard to imagine Mrs Black doing, actually, and some of them I'm quite sure she did do.

That voice of hers gives me nightmares--imagine her singing lullabies!
Explains a lot, doesn't it?

Body fluids. Messes. Fussing.
I'm not actually sure I saw Bella touch Rigel.

Date: 2014-03-31 04:07 am (UTC)Two of the girls have had their new babies and a third had just gone into labour when I arrived. Terrie explained that they had a whole Mothering Day celebration planned and felt it would be wrong to start it, er, prematurely, as it were. She convinced me to stay a few hours - and then a few more, as the young woman continued. Bedford's newest resident was born a little after six and then the party got underway.
I was waiting for the, er, celebration to wear off a bit, so that I don't embarrass myself all over the Floo grate. But someone just came and told Terrie they've spotted a lone rider on a broom uncomfortably close to the southern perimeter, so we're off to check on that.
I expect it's just someone else who was visiting his or her mother until far too late. Don't wait up; if necessary I'll kip on Terrie's sofa. She won't mind.
